HI, It sounds like they are giving you the wrong starter motor! On v6 95 buick motor the difference between auto & manual trans starters are a washer-spacer behind the starter gear, maybe they are giving you an auto starter? Maybe go to a different store or dealership & ask if there is a difference between the starters or look at the original one to if any difference. You can check the starter out of the car to see if it turns over & throws out with a battery & jumper leads & maybe a screw driver, its been a while since I have done that.
