This is an easy one

Pull that D--- thing out of your ride. I love my 1997 Max (actually I30). I loved my 1992 Max. I hate Bose with a passion. My 1992 right rear speaker used to pickup a separate radio station than the rest of the car. Your Bose speakers all have independent amplifiers and the in dash is passive with a line level out. The Bose system uses a different line level than standard equipment so you just can't replace it without a kit to adjust the line level. Your door speakers have oversized magnetics with a triangular mount plate. Nothing else will fit in that spot. You can't re-wire the system without pulling up the seats and carpet. My advice?
1. Get Sony Xplode in dash cd/radio and use the original wiring
2. Get dash kit for new radio
3. Get adapter to adjust line level
4. Replace rear paper cones with poly cones (optional)
5. Take a sledgehammer to old radio (recommended)
