I installed a aftermarket sony deck in my car with a 12 cd changer. There is no need to solder wires together. You might have to buy a extra wire harness that’s about 15 bucks (FORD Premium Stereo Harness). This lets you link up the premium stereo wires and power connector in the escort to the corresponding wires to the aftermarket stereo. Its very simple. As you take out the stock stereo you well see to studs in front that well block any other stereo from going in. Since its plastic I just filed it down and now I’m enjoying an aftermarket deck. J

Anther good idea is to replace the stock speakers, cuz you would not get the full effect from the new deck with those.
