I realize this thread is old, but the temp. sensor is in the right head, at the end, close to the master cylinder/vacuum assist drum. This is just a ref. the sensor is down on the lower part of head behind a bunch of plumbing, wiring, hoses...you name it. Its a bitch to get to. However....this is the "TEMP.SENSOR" that sends info to the temp. gauge (analog) on the dash. The "low coolant" sensor is under the recovery bottle....and I mean under the bottle, i,e.....Go ahead and detach bottle from apron. Its easier in the long run.

Hope this helps someone who is "in the dark" on these issue's.
