Well, I have the shop manual and it lists one of the probable cause of 1-"soft ride" 2- "harsh ride" as having the wrong springs.

Anything is possible including the previous owner installed springs from other "J" body vehicles with a heavier motor Etc.... I know that it happens, i seen that a man put springs from a 409 under a car that had a 327 in it , sat up two inches higher and rode like a brick.... I wanted to know if the number I gave was the proper parts for a base cavalier with FE1 suspension
