Hello guys and gals ..... lets get straight to te question here :P
I own a 92 grand am gt that i take good care of,the car is great shape ive gave it some love

it came with a 2.3 dual overhead cam manual tranny and after my 3rd engine and 6th quad 4 total i figured it was time to change engine.
so i grabbed a 93 3300 with 3 speed auto tranny and threw it in easy it runs great,i also changed it over to synthetic oil.
since i changed it it has treated me well and im pretty impressed with the durablity of the engine..... i mean after going threw so many quad 4 engines its easy for me to say its great.
Now when i changed it i went from manual to auto tranny i left my clutch peddle in so i still need to push it to start the car :P
Sadly i miss my manual tranny and want to throw one back in with this engine but i noticed how hard it was to find a 3300 manual tranny, a few mechanics tell me just throw a 3.1 tranny in it it will match up ...... is this true is what im really asking here ?
