i don't know if this is a symptom of anything else, but my idle gets rougher and the engine almost stalls when i engage the a/c. so, i'm not sure if that's a sign that the timing belt/chain is bad or just another symptom of a bad IMG.
and yes, i've tried the old "spray carb cleaner on the intake manifold" trick a couple of times to check for a leaking gasket, but i haven't noticed any change in the idle. although, now that i think of it, every time i've tried it the car was already warmed up. which means that the hole could have been closed b/c of expansion. i'll give it a try one more time when the engine is cold and report back.
