I had the rack develop a leak on my 95 Transport during really cold weather this past winter. Popped the seal on the stearing shaft. Hope you don't have to change out the rack as I did. It's a nasty job. You have to remove the rear bolts on the sub frame and drop the engine and transmission slightly. The hardest part of the whole job is dealing with the boot and knuckle joint on the stearing shaft. What I finally came up with for the boot is a wire fashioned to hook the top and pull it down and out of the way. If I had to do it again I would make something to compress the boot while it was out of the vehicle. Welding rods or something similar which you could cut away after fastening the U joint.
