Striping Paint - Live test

So, the thread Touching up paint after clearcoat gave me a good tip and I tried the spot painting.

Carefully masked following the panel lines around the areas I messed up, sanded and then washed the body.

Looked ok so I even went the obsessive-compulsive way and remasked this time using surgical gloves...

The mist coats went well but then on the wet coat...it worked well ...but then while it was drying...the paint started to crackle

Sorry no pictures of that...donīt worry though, I will eventually make the same mistake again

As Scuderia Ferrari (The F1 Team) said on their press release, "A New Approach is Needed", after the dreadful Malaysian weekend...anyway..

The new approach is, strip the paint - automotive paint and clear coat - with Isopropyl(?) Alcohol 99,8%, I asked the salesman for 99,9% he said it didīt exist, letīs give him the benefit of the doubt.

I stated live test in the thread because I will watch it for the next few hours and post pics as it goes. Some say it takes days other a couple of hours, letīs see how mine goes.

Materials used:

- 2 liters plastic ziploc type container
- 2 liters Isopropyl(?) Alcohol 99,8%
- the messed up body

Step 1 body in alcohol

See you soon..I hope

Time started: 10:24PM (-03:00GMT)
