Delco RDS Unlock

Ok good news Guys here is How to unlock you rds stereo ,I call my local dealer and they charge 120 and not even guaranteed it will work so I try to lift of the pin 8 on the eeprom like some one else mention and I didn't work for me, so i start to play with my stereo and the chips, but I was unable to identified the 56585 chip with a data sheet,I noticed that the chip has two power inputs one with 12+ volts on the pin 5 and 5+ volts on the pin 1 and ground on the pin 2,the orange cable that is located on the harness of the stereo is the sense that activate the stereo ,this cable is on top of the red cable power cable 12 volt +,the sense cable goes to the pin 4 of this chip and passes to a capacitor and goes to the pin 3 also,Ok to make things no so complicated if you cut the pin 7 that is above the numbers 5-6 this will disable the loc,but is a trick ,you need to put a relay on the power cable the red on the harness connected to the stereo and hook up the relay that it will be always open so no power to the unit and just enable with the accessory or you can put a switch and you will turn on and off the radio when you want and be sure it will work every time,if you turn your car the stereo will work fine after err or cal on the screen, but beware that if you go to the accessory and then to start will go to lock ,you need to go to accessory only or straight to ignition for the stereo to work and the memory on the stations will stay fine just the clock will reset every time, but works and we no longer need to pay that to the dealer,I recommend more to cut the tiny strip on the circuit board than mess with the chip this way you can always reverse the cut with a simple solder and not risking your unit or the chip to be damaged,I'm going to put two pictures one of the chip in question ,that is located to the right facing the stereo towards you and the second picture were to cut the line a small knife will do the trick ,on my stereo work great and I'm sure it will work with a lot of units but no guarantees,I'm just trying to help,if have spelling error ,I'm sorry but English is not my first language, try to pass this information to help people.
I don't promote the stealing of property or nothing like that ,I'm totally against that kind of people,I'm against the dealer that charges totally outrageous prices.
