You need that mount that I got for my camera. It clips on with mounts for the passenger or driver side headrest and puts the camera right in the center of the car. I threw a wide angle lens on it and it got the whole dash, out the windshield and it looked good. Too bad the Firebird had bad glare out of the windshield on a really sunny day. But it still made for a good video.

Nice.... that's awesome. For my camera (digital camera, not a camcorder) I have attached a tripod to it and then stuck it between the headrest and the seat and then angled it however I wanted to. I haven't perfected it yet; if I turn hard it falls over and then everything is at a 90* angle. But I will be making a mount for it to hold it in place better.
