Hey Mark,
pretty much everything is hand-made, except the bodywork and engine, which is in the first few posts. Most of the bodywork will eventually be hand-laid fiberglass, since the kit pieces are white-metal and very heavy. All the brass frame is scratchbuilt and the styrene panels I'm doing for the interior are scratchbuilt. Actually, by the time its done, there won't be very many parts used from the kit. If you've not ever seen one of these kits in person, then it's hard to describe how mediocre the level of detail is OOB. There is a transkit available for them, which takes it into another realm, but there are still the inherent kit shortcomings which I decided to get around by building everything that was wrong, by hand. Judging by how much of the kit will not be used, you can see just how lacking I felt the kit was. As soon as I get the frame completely done and painted, the build should move along much faster... I have around 150-200 hours in the frame alone, so far, so it's been a huge undertaking, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, now...
