Gas Milage

Hey all, I know we've had a talk or two about gas milage, but I thought we could use another.

So as some of you probably remember, I had to do the t-stat in my Cavalier so I just did an oil change and put in a new air filter. Well, I was getting right around 28 mpg on like a 50/50 mix of city and highway before the change. I just filled up tonight and I gained a whopping 3.5 mpg on an oil change and new air filter alone! How awesome is that?! My driving has been consistent too, I vary my driving very little.

I still have the new tranny fluid (though that wont make a big difference in mpg) and a new fuel filter (original fuel filter in there, that should help a bit) to do, but didnt have time while I was home. I never checked the plugs either, though they are supposed to be some "100k mile plugs" or some shit. When the snow is all gone I'll get the new tranny fluid and fuel filter in, then check plugs and whatever else might need to be done, and at some point this summer I am going to throw a hard intake pipe and a K&N on there... my buddy's Accord grabbed 2 mpg that changed alone.

Anyway, I just thought it was interesting enough to share.
