Re: Anyone DIY remote start?
Stay awaw from those diy remote starts like bulldog, etc. I have installed for over 15 years and this is not a place to save $50 on a cheap system. Most shops are installing quality remote starts now for around $150 and they can make the remote start, lock, unlock, etc. I just installed 2 bulldogs for a couple of people, i told them not to, and they would only start the car from about 30 feet. Also just think, that remote start has to do everything your ignition switch does., and handle all of the current of the heater and other accessories. These things use cheap relays and cheap components. Nothing like starting your car and when the heater and lights kick on wires start melting because relays short out. just a thought..,.
