(UPDATE)

Well a friend said that it was probably the wiring harness and not wanting to be out done I replaced the wires from the ECM to the module on the distributer ( new SPOUT connector and all). Results, still the same. Still got the 18 code also. Surely some one else has run across this problem????
Any ideas???
