you cant just replace the cord the whole part would need replaced.

Just follow the wire and see where it goes.

My 99 SE came from Canada and with a block heater, it was in the pass side lower radiator hose. Pretty easy to change once the hose is removed.
If its in the oil pan, I've seen those too, you'll probly want to have it done. Its a real pita to replace.

I had removed mine then, the following winter it got down to -24 and my car(s) were difficult to get started. Hope I dont see any more of that!
