if you have a multimeter check the resistance of the wiper motor. It should be very low - .01-.1ohm. If its 234ohm or such than the motor is bad and needs replacement. Also the only way to check the linkage is to remove the motor from the linkage and move it by hand (its a common problem for the linkage to sieze)
