I'd go for the ZX2, more displacement, probably more potential (I don't know about the design of these engines and their limits), lighter, more torque, smaller hp, but probably easier to get it above the civic than for the civic to gain as much hp as that, and I think the brand new Civics are ugly as hell, but the ZX2 isn't exactly pretty either.

I like Ford and Honda, but I'd just rather take the Ford on this one, it costs plently less which means you would have instant money for mod as well that would even up the power and gain even more torque.

As for Fords, we own a fleet of about 7 Ford work trucks, never have any problems and they're beat on and most of them fairly old. Everything from Rangers to a really old dumptruck we had. We also have a '95 Ford Windstar with the 3.8L V6 that hsnt had many problems of it's 5 years of abuse. The head gasket blew once, but was covered with a lifetime warranty and the entire engine was replaced for free.

I also like Hondas though, they are reliable, economical, and have some attractive cars.stock performance is also getting better and better, although not exactly mind blowing or anything. In reality I wouldn't buy either of these cars though, I'd rather buy and build up a 240SX or an 2nd Gen RX-7 with that money and have something better than either of them. Or a good solid musclecar.

Meh, it doesn't really matter. If you love a car, it's what you should get. If you don't love your car then there's not much reason to have it, even if it has some great aspects or is more popular.
