"So I took my boxy to pepboys"
I'm so sorry.
Just be careful when you put seafoam in it - it can do a great job of cleaning the engine but it does contain water (regardless of what others say) and can be harmful if not followed to the letter of the direction label.
Oh, and how in the hell does it cost twice as much labor to replace the timing cover, than to replace the oil pan gasket? You have to lift the engine to get the oil pan off!
Run, run far far away and follow '97ventureowner's advice. Get a second opinion. Pep Boys sucks and it's my life's dedication to seeing they get as little business as possible. I say this because I took my nine charley one to them to have an alignment performed. While on the rack, the guy told me it needed shims (well duh!) and they charge a separate charge of $85/hr to install them on top of the alignment. Needless to say the car wasn't properly aligned and they basically told me to f___ off when I wanted them to make it right. This was nearly two years ago (Nov. 29, 2006).
