Ok...I just finished changing my front brakes, everything went well....besides the fact that while putting on a bolt, the hole in the....spindle I think you call it, got completely stripped. (bottom bolt hole)
So has of now, my caliper as the top bolt installed properlly but the bottom one is just, well, just not holding anything...
Also, to get it out was the freaking hard because I had to almost pry it out and loosen it while wiggling the ratchet, anyways, long story short, a bolt can almost just be pushed in now (not completety but almost)
So...I just wanted to know what my options we're. I'll pretty much try anything before replacing the stripped part because I'm sure it's going to be really expensive/long/hard to replace.
I figured I could just taper new treads and install a bigger bolt but I doubt I can find a similar bolt in stores...
And if that doesn't work...I GUESS the last resort could be to drill a hole where the treads we're and make place a normal bolt/nut to stop the caliper from moving up and down...but I'm not really sure about that part....kinda feels like it's going to weaken the support if I make it go through...
Anyways, any suggestion is very appreciated, thanks! (btw, I know I'm a dumb ass and that I should have stopped to tighten the bolt when I realized it was getting hard half-way, so, don't bother mentionning it, I'm fully aware of it
