VW/Audi has had electrical gremlins since the Mk3's or so (1993), but it's not like they ALL have them. And honestly, EVERY car has its problems. My friend had a 2004 Honda Civic that had the transmission replaced under warranty TWICE before the car had 10,000 miles on it.

At least you're on the right track with a FWD car. PS, have you heard a VW VR6 with exhaust? YUMMY.
