I'm going to take yet another approach. Under the dash on the passenger side is the resistor array. My friend Jim has an '06 Silverado, and his experienced exactly your problem. It was diagnosed as a bad resistor array, we replaced that (along with a replacement wire harness 'pigtail'), problem solved.
