I was a little unsure of how exactly to jack up and support the car for this job.
I settled on a main stand ahead of the rear wheel (see below). It sits on the unibody frame under the doors.
The spring extends when the wheel is pulled off.
But to have some extra support I also put a jack under the wheel piece (see second photo here below):
