How high above the full mark? How many quarts of oil did you put in? It should be 4.5 qts with filter change. What other symptoms do you have indicating UIM or LIM gaskets? Any sludge on the back of the radiator cap and inside the radiator filler neck? Any brown milkshake look on the dipstick? Check the back of the oil filler cap and look for condensation or signs of coolant. Any confirmed coolant loss at both the reservoir and at the radiator?
The coolant level sensor is located on the passenger side of the radiator about 3 inches below the top of the filler neck. Easy to remove and clean. Old sludge will stay on it until it is physically removed and cleaned up. See pic below.
If you need any help just reply at this thread asking for it to benefit other members or send me a PM. I've done a total of 6 UIM/LIM jobs on the Series II 3800 engine with plenty of pics.
Note: The hidden bolt markings on the UIM are referring to the two outer diagonal LIM bolts which have nothing to do with removing the UIM. Make sure you remove all of the UIM bolts (total of 10) and then pull up hard on the UIM.
