Air flow sensor
I had a similar problem with my Sportage 94. BUT it was only when the engine was"cool", that is to say, first 30 minutes (approximately) when I turned it on at first time at day (AND ONLY AT FIRST DAILY TURN ON), it seemed to stall.
The problem: Air flow sensor was damaged. I replace it and the problem leave inmediately.
But if you don't have this problem on your first daily turn on, I think Patate have reazon. It could be the alternator.
