I had the same problem on my '04.

There is a wiring loom that runs the length of the engine (on the right side of the engine when facing the engine) and is looped around the back of the engine behind the valve cover. There is a head bolt back there that stick up at the back right of the valve cover. Over time, that wire loom will rub on that bolt causing a hole to form in the plastic wire cover. The Engine coolant sensor wire are in this wire loom and will ground out on that head bolt causing the fault.

I found this on mine, put a small plastic cap on the head bolt and zip-tied the loom up so it would rub on that bolt anymore. I've not had a problem since. Later, this was confirmed as problem by a Jeep Service Tech. Hope it helps.
