I have a 97 sohc. I already installed a crane cam, mopar comp., header/intake, tru time gear, etc. and now I think I want to try increased compression. I work at a parts store and I was looking in a sealed power book. From what I can see the sohc and dohc pistons have the exact same measurements (bore, pin, etc.) but the dohc piston has a .035 raised top. I want to try a piston swap. Has anyone attempted this before? If not, maybe it should be looked into. The replacement pistons are $140-150 for the set brand new. If anyone knows why this wouldn't work, please stop me before I pull the head off
I've got a set of accel injectors(don't remember how much bigger) add in two steps colder plugs and this could make a lot of power for under $250! Any imput would be appreciated.
