Re: The New Fiat 5oo !! Awesome ! 5oo wants you !

the last time we saw Fiats introduced to N. America was between the 1973 and 1979 oil price shocks; they're fads for a while; they're well engineered; it might be said that the execution of the cheap, light cars leaves much to be desired in longevity; I feel this is due to bad metallurgy or to a corrupt Italian labor system in the assembly of car and its parts
you can have my old friend cheap make an offer with haulaway included
good parts car: E24CS10112099
restorable, not running Italian convertible classic
engineered well, but execution so cheesy you'll be the only restored one on the road
50-100K mi on engine overhaul and 5 speed manual tranny overhaul by owner
many spare parts too, including tranny case; much documented work back to '76
second owner (son of 1st); well loved & long maintained
forsaken due to no more than an unfinished radiator install with botched weld attempt
1st damage: undercarriage: typical rust-out of front shock towers
2nd damage: right rear quarter panel doped amateurishly but back to fair
all lids and doors & glass ok
convertible top needs replacing, seats need re-upholstery
you can find just about any part you need online and the prices are generally more reasonable than most any other foreign make
car is pretty straight forward to work on; has great support groups
title clean, do have keys
can't start; can't run vehicle, sitting covered for years
metro Washington, DC local haul-away
