Mechanic probably didnt want at worse case taking the dash apart to fix the blend door. Many posts on that here.
Appears to be ok. Does that mean you checked it with gauges? Or you saw two cans go in?
If you eat a big mean something has to come out or you wont work right.
Same with refrigerant. Thats why they use tanks to reclaim it.
Dont dump oil on te ground or in sewer. Dont release Refrigerant into the
atmosphere. Please.
Blend door would be my guess> Good luck
