Measure the distance between the tires. At each outer tie rod end there is a lock nut. Take two wrenchs and loosen the nut then turn the tie rods until they come apart. One will be right hand thread one will be left hand thread.
Use two wrenchs one a 6 point line wrench and disconnect the oil lines. Two large bolts hold the rack in place. Unbolt the splined shaft usually four bolts.
Then remove the rack they are harder to rebuild than they look. Check the seals by the inner tie rod ends and check for slop in inner tie rods. You may have to a bearing house for seals. Get the size off the seal such as 20 30 10
I.D. O.D. Width before you call. If you have any excessive slop buy a rebuilt.
I would suggest a wheel alignment after you are done.
If you replace inner tie rods use a large crescent on the part with teeth. Never disconnect by only using a large wrench without holding the rack from turning or you will tear more seals.
