Re: WIP: Joest Porsche 962C 1/24

Finished!

Decals were surprisingly tricky and needed a generous helping from Microsol. The extra finishing touches to the shell were as follows:

I added etched exhaust protector plates each side, drilled the side windows with 3 holes per side, using the S27 etched set I replaced the front tow hook, the front and rear catches, the fuel and electric cut off switches, rear wing supports, windscreen brackets and fuel caps. I also added a couple of grab handles inside the cockpit and also added a Sakatsu Antenna. Finally I also replaced the rivets all round. The panel lines were picked out with a medium grey wash and not black - which would be far too contrasting on a white shell.

A thoroughly enjoyable build all in all and extremely easy. While adding the few engine details I did consider building an entire engine as the gap between the cockpit and the transmission was annoying me and I think this would be an excellent full detail project - maybe another day I will do another one, however I have the 956 to do also so maybe I will get my engine detail 'fix' from building that one instead!

I will add a completed thread shortly and I will have lots more finished pics on my site too. Thanks as always for following, next up... A bright Yellow Jordan, which one Im not sure yet as I have 2 to pick from, although both will be resin and curbside... boooo!

all the best guys!
