i feel your pain. these cars are crap! Funny, I just put my deposit down on a new acura as well...hmmm I think i might have asked you about this in my post below, but... I'll ask in more detail...
Did you ever have this problem... At random times, the monte starts weird, then dies and won't start again for a while( sometimes hours ). At first, the enigne will turn and fire up, but the rpms only go to around 600 where they fluctuate within 200 -300 rpms. If I'm lucky, it will do it about 20 seconds or so, then suddenly rev up to 1500 - 2000 rpms for like 7 - 10 seconds. Then it drops back down to idle at 1000 rpms. Giving it gas does not help... actually makes it alittle worse. A number of times, it didn't settle back into idle. It just died. Then when I try to restart, the engine just cranks, but won't fire up.
I had it towed three times to the shop now, and by the time it gets there, there's no more prob. They have run diagnostics on the car with no prob found. except for the first time. They replaced plugs, wires, and the plenum gasket. Car ran fine for about 3 weeks...then it started again.
If ya gots any ideas...I'd love to hear them.
