I'll be staying in Deltona (I believe it's somewhat near Orlando) for the majority of the time, I was just wondering if any of you guys knew of any junk yards around there. Lol, I'm one of the few people who would love to spend thier vacation out of state junkyard hopping. But yeah, anyway I figured while I was down there, I'd see what they had... since salt isn't used for any road purpose as far as I know, I can't imagine the cars to be too rusty. Last time I was there I don't think I remember seeing hardly any rust on vehicles, new or old. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Here's another option I thought of that might be of help. If I were in your situation, I would look online at www.car-part.com . I would enter my vehicle's info in their search boxes and select a part I was looking for. I would then limit the search to parts of Florida I was planning on visiting. A results page would then come up and I could copy or print that info as a starting point to go an possibly visit some of these yards to see what they had available. The results page usually lists the name and contact info for the yards that have the parts you need, and a little work on the phones before you go down there might narrow your search further. By contacting some of these yards before you head out, you can see if they're open to the general public, if they have more parts in stock for your vehicle and can help "weed out " those yards which may not have anything useful, thus saving you on gas also. Good luck.
( You think like I used to.. okay still do . Back many years ago , my friend and I were planning on going to Florida for a week, and part of the time we wanted to check out some of the "Southern junkyards" to see what they had since the ones up here in NY have little in rust free parts. Something about walking around a salvage yard... it's like going on a treasure hunt. Unfortunately, we never did make it down there )
