I agree wholeheartedly.
If you have a Protar (also current Revell AG kit) 250 GTO, you could use the engine from that kit if if you don't go the Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland version.
Also, KA models does have a 250GTO Detail-up Etched Parts KE-24016 For 1/24 Revell & Protar Kit. It likely can be adapted for the Fujimi or will be upgraded for the Fujimi kit.
Another wheel tire option is Tecnomodel's TACW01 Borrani style aluminum and photo-etch wire wheels and tire set
