test the pig tail for the map sensor. turn the ignition on, don't have the engine running. Test the + side of the terminal for voltage. If its there, and your 100% sure the map sensor is good, start looking for a bad ground in that circuit.

The crap on your TB is normal. The PCV valve is built into the valve cover, no filter and all that crap gets sucked into the black box above the TB and re-circulated into your motor to be burned up. Only way to stop that is put a breather filter off your VC or install and oil catch can. Did you clean you Idle air control valve too when you were cleaning your TB? That tends to be coated in the same black crap that coated your TB butterfly.
