Alright, well I have a '87 mustang with the 5.oh and the aod transmission. When i got the car the t.v. cable was not hooked up and the trans. was shot (would not shift into 3rd or od) so I replaced the trans. I wound up swapping the input shaft, torque converter, and neutral switch over to the "new" trans. and I am still having the same problem. The trans is full of new fluid, new filter, t.v. cable is hooked up and set so there is no slack. I have tried to manually shift it (start in 1st, shift to D and put it back into 1st as soon as it shifts, and go from there) and it has no affect. I have a b&m shift kit sitting here that I am going to put in it with a different valve body in hopes that maybe somewhere along the lines something is sticking in there. I have also been told it could be the torque converter that is causing the problem (I dont understand how) or the direct drive clutch. Anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be? I really dont wanna have to pull the trans again and spend the money on a new converter if that is not what it is. Also I cant believe that it is possible that I would get another trans that has the exact same problems as the one that I took out (i know my luck sucks but come on now

). If it is the clutches how hard is it to rebuild the trans? Any advice/tips (besides the obvious one of buy a new trans)? I gotta get this thing fixed like last month before my wife finally snaps because I am driving her car all the time. UGH!!
