If the straps look even a little rusted, go ahead a get new ones. The same for the lock ring on the top of the tank. It's worth it to keep from delaying you project 2 days like mine. Check the plug on the fuel pump/sensor while there to make sure it's not falling apart. Ya know, the whole, "while you're in there" scenario.
