Sounds like you have a tooth off. Its what my first race car did several times because I had no timing marks at all on that engine. There should be a timing mark on your crank pulley and on part of the timing cover that goes behind it. If you don't have the cover behind it, there is a tiny arrow by your oil pump that marks TDC. You have your timing marks right on the cam...I had problems on mine because the D16Z6 uses a different timing mark on the cam rather than the edge of the head.
