Alot of engine sensors can become heat sensitive when they are failing. Most will work for a short time when the engine is cool and others will just flat stop working. Some of them that are affected are the CPS ( crankshaft position sensor ), the MAF ( mass air flow sensor ) and cam shaft position sensor.
