Resetting of the engine fault light on a G20
I have a 94 G20. I was doing an engine compression test on it and the action of disconnecting the ignition and revving the engine caused the ECU to register an "engine fault". I tried to short the pins suggested on this board. My ecu looked a little different, so I tried various methods. As a last ditch effort, I unplugged my battery (took off the +ve and -ve) for the night. The next morning, I reconnected the battery and the light was gone. Apparently, taking the battery off for extended periods of time causes the ECU to reset the error codes. Good luck bud!! I feel your pain ... I hated seeing my engine light on. Remember while taking the battery off, -ve first, then +ve, while reconnecting, +ve first and then -ve.
