any old car is going to have things go wrong mechanically. Thats the nature of the beast. Moving parts wear out, plastics and rubbers degrade, etc.

These cars arn't hard to maintain if you dont mind getting your hands dirty every once in a while. They also have been known to last well over 200K miles. Parts are relatively cheap for these cars too.
