Hey mate..... Drink a tinny of Fosters, put something on the barbie, and chill out till the missue gets back from the Bottle Shop with a slab !
1. Change that fuel filter. Always a good idea.
2. If the car sat for 4 months...the petro could be contaminated with water...Get another can of Fosters and two cans of petro dry. Drink the Fosters and put the petro dry in the tank. Don't mix this up...hate to waste that tinny !!
Top the tanks off with new petro from the Servo!!!
3. Since you changed coils around and wires...make sure !!! you have not switched the wires around and go them crossed.
4. Just make sure the Spark Plug are not fouled and they are gapped correctly. A little fine sand paper and carb cleaner will do the trick.
3. Did you get a check engine light on the dash ???
4. AutoZone in Sydney...mmmm. I don't think so bloke......but find a Crow Eater that can read the code with a reader.
If you want to check the coil...use this method.
TESTING
2.2L (VIN 4) Engine
Remove the ignition coil(s).
Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the primary terminals on the underside of the coil. The resistance should be 0.50-0.90 ohms.
Check the resistance between the secondary terminals. It should be 5000-10,000 ohms.
If the coil failed either test, replace the coil.
Like Kirkwood said.....Check the Ignition Module. next ...it is under the coil.
