600 bucks to change a timing belt? wtf, tell them to go eat it. factory honda timing belt, just bought one a couple days ago, about 27.50. install should cost about 180 bucks i believe by dealer, but i had my friend change the belt for me while he had the head apart to take a look at my valves. so i just paid 27.50 to change belt. i heard it was 100k on hondas before timing belt change, but my friend says 80k sounds about right. you never know when the belt goes and your stranded needing a new motor when the valves smack the pistons, so i suggest you change it soon. i have seen timing belts break at 40k and i have seen them break at 250k without ever being changed. i guess it depends on the mood of the belt.
