Did you buy your 2000 new or used? If used, perhaps the former owner either changed the coolant or may have added something different to the Dex Cool that was currently in the vehicle. Mixing other coolants even those designed to "mix with Dex Cool" can cause issues. The differences between the two mainly is the formulations. To be safe you might want to drain the old coolant out of the cooling system, flush it out and replace it with the proper fresh coolant for your vehicle.
