I had the same problom with mine but it's a 95 and it should be pretty close.
On mine the goose neck that goes into the side of the head was cracked and it was slowly leaking and then when the motor cooled of it would suck air into the motor and start to over heat. You have to pull that goose neck off to see if it is broken around the edge because there is a o-ring that set's in a grove that seals it up. Watch out for that little line that goes off the back of the goose neck ( it just pull's out but you have to remove two bolts )because it will break real easy and they are around 40 bux. good luck
