Re: Aftermarket security system causing electrical problems???
IUpdate:
I was making a quick run to walmart, got out of the car and went to press the lock button on the key fob and didn't hear the customary horn chirp, hit it a couple more times, still didn't hear it and decided to forget it and go inside. When I came back out I went to open the door and it was locked, but the key fob isn't wanting to unlock the car, I can't get the key fob to do anything, but it had locked it when I went in. I can mechanically unlock the drivers door, but as soon as I do that the alarm goes off and the ignition is disabled. After several attempts I was able to get the negative battery terminal off to kill the alarm, then after reconnecting the car started. While doing this I did notice for the first time that there is a sticker on the drivers window that advertises it is protected by Pursuit Security Systems? Does anyone have any experience with this brand of systems? And there is a pair of wires going into the drivers door panel, shouldn't those be to a sensor detecting a mechanical unlock of the door?
