Tried this. Also turned on the lights and turned the key. The lights did not dim. Makes me think I might have a fuse, relay or solenoid that has gone bad. I don't know where the solenoid is nor which relay to check. Is it one under the hood or a fuse under the dash? I don't think it's the fuseable link, because the engine should still turn over with it blown. That would just stop it from continuing to run after you release the key.

Do you know where I can get a list of the fuses and relays and their location?
