the "street racing" section is mainly for posting kills and loses.

As for your first car, you need to be more specific. Is this going to be your daily driver? How far is your total distance travel per day? Are you looking for 30+ miles per gallon? Does it have to be 4-dr or 2-dr. Are you considering inexpensive insurance rates? How important is reliability to you? etc...

Simple questions, but are very useful. Being your age not too long ago, I can definitely say to you that getting 35+ mpg was a lifesafer considering how expensive gas was back then. I'm all toyota, so i'll give you some pointers:

corolla ae86
corolla ae92
corolla fx16
supra mk3
mr2 aw11
mr2 sw20
celica gen 5
celica gen 6

These are good starter cars that i consider "sporty compact" or "sport compact". Let me know if you're interested in toyota, i can give you further details.
