Is the front carpet wet anywhere? I'm assuming you don't have sunroof drains that might be leaking since you didn't mention sunroof.

The most likely source is a leak around the door. It might be a break in the rubber seal that goes against the frame metal of the door opening. It might be poor contact on a portion of it.

But most likely is a leak through the door. Rain water gets in around the outside seals on the glass area. That water goes down into the door and is kept from the inside by a plastic shield layer that is glued to the metal with a butyl-like caulk. If the door panels have been off, that may not be sealed any longer. The caulk may just have dried up and leet go of the plastic. Water gets into the car; you'll see a drip on the doorsill close to the inside and the water runs down under the carpet.

Also assume the front door could be a source of your leak and the water runs to the back.
