lol, agreed! you can not compare a full size car to a compact. they deisgn engines according to the car and the market it is intended for...
put it this way, when designing the SE-R they weren't all sitting around the table going...."hey, i have a great idea...lets design a engine that pushes a compact for this boat of a car infront of us"

i once typed up the entire article on the set up of the 95 battle of imports winner. he ran a 12.30 on his d15b2 (in his 88 Dx) with a junkyard turbo set-up...no crazy interal mods.
homeboy can take that info, stick it in his crack pipe, and smoke it...
he just dont want to hear some cheap set-up is gonna smoke his waste of money. you build a turbo on your d series and one of these days you blow your engine. no sweat pick up another $250-500 d series and you're good to go. blow that expensive engine you swapped and you're gonna be bent. it's not rocket science to figure out why he hates. beside you know what they say..."ignorance is bliss"...some chose to be ignorant and happy with their bad choice on money spent.
